We invite you to join us in celebrating the opening of TT’s debut exhibition: Ibi Ti A Ti Wa, Ibi Ti A Wa, Ati Ibi Ti A Nlo. We’ll be hosting an immersive opening reception on September 7th at CAPSUL from 6 PM - 10 PM that you won’t want to miss. See you there!

Presented by TT and curated by Imani Dominique, Ibi Ti A Ti Wa, Ibi Ti A Wa, Ati Ibi Ti A Nlo is a thought-provoking exhibition that delves into TT’s journey as a  Nigerian - Canadian immigrant artist with Yoruba heritage.

TT’s debut exhibition brings together over 20 previously unseen artworks from the artist’s portfolio. A projection of his worldview, TT’s work closely reflects his personal, familial, and cultural experiences. This collection is a testament to the artist’s resilience and determination to create a meaningful portfolio while balancing life, work, school, family, politics, and mental health. Ibi Ti A Ti Wa, Ibi Ti A Wa, Ati Ibi Ti A Nlo will guide the visitor through phases of the artist’s creative progression, explore cultural roots and modern-day experiences, reflect on areas of growth, and will present his goals for the future.

Through this exhibition, the artist hopes the work will resonate with those who are also balancing the many facets of life while striving to affirm their identity. We hope this exhibition reminds the visitor that they have the inner strength necessary to reach their goals and that they don’t need to do it alone.

Regardless of what life throws at you, you can withstand it. You can stand in our own power and emerge as the person you were always meant to be.

Where We’re Coming From, Where We Are, Where We’re Going
Tioluwani Babalola, commonly known as TT is a contemporary Nigerian artist with a fresh perspective on graffiti influenced doodle art. He delves into topics of self-expressionism as well as concepts of individualism amidst the meanders of life.
Since his public debut in 2022, evolution has been a constant subject of conversation for TT, his medium choice has evolved from paint pens and sharpies to a more diverse arsenal including airbrush, paint mops, chalk, ink and acrylic. Through avid use of color and specific geometry, TT creates a language of its own as a means of emotiveness. TT's ultimate desire for those who view his art is a call to open new pathways in their mind to make new meanings, to feel and to construct new theories that provoke a larger picture as is addressed in most of his work.
